When you have multiples, it can be difficult to treat them as separate people. My girls are often referred to as “The Twins”. They do things so similarly including sleep in the same position. They have their special ability to communicate with each other and they dress alike often.

This month I’m walking in the March for Babies March of Dimes walk. It goes perfectly with April being Multiple Births Awareness month.

Multiples tend to arrive ahead of schedule and March of Dimes focuses on reducing the number of premature births so that babies can remain in the womb for as long as possible. Although some twin pregnancies go to 40 weeks (full-term read more

In continuing my previous blog about creating safe environments that help prevent injuries and falls, I want to address the bathroom. This is an area that can be very hazardous for a variety of reasons, including flooring type, shoes worn, physical ability and associated activity and much more needs to be assessed. While most people think about the adjustment for a larger read more

Stop Diabetes Before it Stops You

One minute doesn’t last very long. That’s barely enough time to walk up several flights of stairs, find your car keys, or brush your teeth. But that’s all it may take to answer a few quick questions to find out if you are one of the nearly six million Americans who has diabetes but doesn’t know it. As part of American Diabetes Association Alert! Day on Tuesday, read more

Assuming you don’t totally avoid television, radio, Twitter, Facebook…you’ve no doubt heard that Snooki is pregnant.

In a weird way, I was relieved.

I know you’re thinking, “Um, why would you be relieved that a woman who makes her living by being drunk on national TV is pregnant?”

	Here’s my thought process…

There has been a sort of “Jersey Shore read more

Today the population of 45-64 year olds makes up 26.4 percent of the US population. Due to the ease of travel and migration for careers many seniors or soon to be senior adults live in cities far removed from their children and families. As the baby-boomers are hitting the social security rolls and feeling the effects of age related disorders, large populations of read more
